Last mile solution for public transport is being tested in Kista

Over the next two months, two connected cars will be in service on the streets of Kista. The cars are part of a pilot project, where a service for future public transport is tested. Participants can book trips with an app and be picked up at major transport hubs and driven all the way to their destination. The aim of the test is to analyze behavioral patterns for car sharing services in public transport, find business models and adapt the technology.
Promoting automation in the transport sector in focus when Drive Sweden participated in High Level EU meeting

On the 7th of October the 4th High Level EU meeting for member states, the Commission and selected industry organizations on connected and automated transports was arranged. Invited to the meeting was Drive Sweden, represented by its chairman Jan Hellåker, who got the opportunity to add important program values to the meeting conclusions.
New steps to promote car sharing in smaller cities

Ten households in a residential area in Trollhättan will share electric cars with each other for one month, as part of a pilot study within Drive Sweden project SESMA. One of the major goals for the project is to improve acceptance for car sharing services in smaller cities, where these services are usually non-existent.
Digital infrastructure powering streets, curbs and cities

Digital infrastructure is a cornerstone in developing the future mobility systems. During the Drive Sweden Forum the attendees got several updates linked to digital infrastructure, a Drive Sweden thematic area. This field has seen a massive progress in just a few years, most recently getting a boost by 5G. A new development related to this is the digitalization of the curb, which Emily Eros, Public Sector Tech Lead and SharedStreets and Open Transport Partnership, presented at the Forum.
MoU between Sweden and Singapore – an enabler for new bilateral initiatives

A new Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Sweden and Singapore. This opens up for new collaboration and has the potential of adding to the international dynamics of Drive Sweden. During the Drive Sweden Forum both Sweden and Singapore addressed this door-opener that Drive Sweden helped trigger.
Lindholmen Open Days – Global benefits for this decade

Between 15 and 17 September, Lindholmen Science Park celebrated its 20th anniversary with a three-day online version of the Lindholmen Open Days. The event, called “Global benefits for this decade”, looked back over the developments that had shaped this productive innovation hub and gave some insights into future progress.
