Drive Swedens secures funding for another three years

After a thorough evaluation with positive conclusions, Drive Sweden has been granted funding for another three years. This means that our efforts for a more sustainable transport system continues!

The external evaluation, which was completed last winter, showed several positive effects from Drive Sweden and the other Strategic Innovation Programs (SIP) that were reviewed. Among other things, the evaluation showed that the programs strengthened the international competitiveness of actors who participated and contributed to the mobilization and renewal of their respective areas.

The Strategic Innovation Programs are financed by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas, and the decision to renew the financing means that Drive Sweden can now launch a third program period. The programs are run in cycles of three years and are planned to run for a total of twelve years.

The decision is, of course, very welcome and we are now working hard to make use of the insights and results that have come from previous initiatives and dialogues within our network and continue to drive the development for a more sustainable transport system.

"We continue in our role as a knowledge-hub and a natural gathering point for all actors who need to collaborate for new solutions to be implemented in a sustainable way. I am really looking forward to a new program period with exciting project ideas, results and program activities that will drive the development forward", says Programme Director Malin Andersson.

"It is nice to get a confirmation of the value of what Drive Sweden has accomplished in recent years, where we have navigated in collaboration through an incredibly dynamic mobility landscape. The challenges looked completely different when the program started six years ago and we will certainly encounter new opportunities and challenges in the coming period. But we have a fantastic network with our 175 partners to rely on, and we have high expectations of what we can achieve together", says Jan Hellåker, Drive Sweden's Chairman.

The other programs that were granted continued funding are:
InfraSweden 2030 in transport infrastructure
Medtech4Health in medical technology
Smart Built Environment in community building
RE:Source in sustainable material use
